[s-cars] Automatic gearbox noise

Sigh, fix one problem and another one rears its ugly
head.

The S6 has started making a metallic scraping noise
(difficult to describe) in 1st/2nd gear (auto box).
The noise is present at idle in neutral and whilst
accelerating. Once the computer shifts up a gear or
two, the noise goes away. The frequency of the noise
is related to engine rpm. The car still drives OK.

Has anyone experienced anything similar to this? I
remember a little discussion recently about bearing
problems in automatic transmissions. What symptoms do
these exhibit?
