Hi Mike,
Damn nice car collection you have there! damn nice. ( Hmmm yet another
"Mike" with a urS Avant and a Carrera.)
I have an avant w bilstein eibachs that was done about a year ago. The
springs I had found in July 2001 after a long and difficult search. Of
course thats half the fun right? It's a long story with a lot of dumbness
that I wont bore you with right now.
Here's some of what I had written previously.
I had the Eibach Pro kit 1529.140 w/Bilstein sports and ECS camber
plates last summer. The label said they were for a " Audi 100, A6,
C4 Avant, 5 + 6 Cyl, with Air Condition and Automatic"
NO spacers were required as drop was about 1 1/2"s and rear is about
1/2" higher than front. 235 45 x 17 Yoko db fit fine on carrera cup rims.
There is a REAL confusion factor here with just using the above " kit" part
number because that same number was also used for the sedan here and also for
something else in europe. So, I surely would not go by that or even mention
it, less to add to the confusion.
Long story short, as this may help eibach get you what you need. Here are
the part numbers off my springs...
front -EW 1527001VA
rear -EW 1517002HA
My mechanic installed the suspension and did NOT use spacers in the rear; a
subject of conflicting stories here but I did not need them.
So, it will be interesting to see what numbers you hear back from eibach, if
any. IIRC, they well succeeded in confusing themselves too.
HTH The combo does work great IMHO, though it should also be noted that
Eibach never actually made a specific set of springs for S cars I believe.
Cheers'
