I think you're correct. The 1529.140 listing, IIRC, also is what a V8 takes.

...and I don't remember ordering anything different for my Avant.

When I do the shocks on my wife's '96 A6 quattro avant, I'm going to see if
my original S6 springs will install properly in her car...or possibly a set
from a '92 S4 :)
