Nothing to do with it... I dunno -- I think it's at the transition from
very lean at cruise, then you mash it and get pinging. It's as if the open
loop fuel delivery is on a few second delay......In the transition period,
timing gets advanced, and throttle opened, you've made a huge move on the
maps...it's seem to me the fuel is insuffient at transition, but the other
possiblity is the timing gets advanced too aggressively for the fuel
quality.

Pinging again here in PA, folks. Amoco 93 in the tank, 29.6 deg C
outside today (sorry, I don't have a single thermometre in Farenheit in
the whole Kessel household). Damn.
Pinging at the last 1/3 of throttle travel, when Motronic goes open loop
(the red LED that I've built into the dashboard flickers). So the MTM 3
bar lean part-throttle condition has nothing to do with it. My in-dash
Lambda gauge under WOT is planted firmly in the RICH where it should be.
