I disagree. I got a '93 S4 that I bought with 45,000 miles. The clutch
never felt smooth and the throw-out bearing has always made noise. Got to
85,000 miles with the same clutch but if I really push it I can feel the
clutch slipping some. Don't ask how bad it smells when I trounce the
clutch. Taka knows though. The standard test used by clutch salesmen (my
father was one) is to put on the brake hard and let up the clutch slowly.
The motor should stall. I think there is a heavy duty version of the Sachs
clutch that some people have used successfully with high HP motors. I have
no direct experience with these but will be doing the clutch sometime in the
next 6 months and looking for one.

I owned a Nissan 200sx before, and the clutch was smoother, but with daily
driving I accustomed to run with this Audi (normal?) clutch.. The strange
thing is that the PO said me that he changed the clutch at about 100000km!
If I release the clutch and the car goes up without touching the accel, its
a symptom of a good clutch?
Thanks for all answers.
