In any case, Audi pulled out of works rallying for good well before
1993. However, the C4 isn't really that much of a stretch as far as
size goes, Audi did campaign a 200TQ back in what, 1988 or so? Group A
I think. Didn't it actually win the Safari Rally? But yes, I have no
problem conceding that if I were to build a rallycar, a pig as large as
a Type 44 or C4 would be about the last thing I'd look at. (maybe to
drive the driver to the starting gate, but that's about it)

What this car sounds like is a '93 S4 4.2, although the 420hp part
is really strange. Other possibility is that it is a '94 RS2, with
significant power upgrades, but then it wouldn't be a V-8.

Joern's S4 is around 420hp, but AAN-based.

As Igor said, there's no way Audi considered a C4 chassis for rallying,
that's ridiculous. The 350 number for homologation doesn't jive with
anything I've heard either.

Possibly a MTM or Hohenester biturbo conversion?
