You've bent something, Joe, probably the control arm if the wheel is
leaning.

Subject: [s-cars] I broke it...AGAIN
So, I get my car back after replacing the pump and
bomb and decide to take a trip to Staten Island this
weekend.
Bad idea.
Let's just say that Hylan Blvd. should be declared a
warzone on suspension components. I'm driving down an
otherwise smooth (for Staten Island) stretch of road
when I see this monstermotherofamanholecover sticking
out about half a foot. Needless to say, I hit it good
with my right tire. No blowout, thank God, but I now
have to point the wheel slightly to the left in order
to go straight.
You see, when the steering wheel is straight, so is
the left tire. But, the right tire, like our good
Attorney General, leans to the right. VISIBLY SO.
Yes, I do have low profile (40 series) tires.
Yes, I do have the H&R V8 springs.
Yes, I do have Bilstein Sports.
No, I do not know how to do my own alignment and I
feel that now is as good a time as any to start.
I will also check the tie rod and control arm, but
will piss and moan if I have to change the latter, as
I just did...oh, 2 weeks ago.
The moral of the story?
No matter how much of a sure thing it is, it is NOT
worth seeing a woman who lives without the luxury of
paved roads.
Grumbling away in NY,
Joe
