it's not, but it's surpringly fast in supercharged form.
and at altitude, it could well be faster.  a few years ago,
i drove a buick regal on an autocross course.  it was at
a GM autoshow in motion, where they let you drive different
cars on an autocross course.  there was another course next to
the one i was on, and both started with long straights running
next to each other.  coincidentally, my friend happened to be
driving a camaro Z28 convertible with automatic.  probably the slowest
LS1 you could get, but still not slow.  anyway, we accelerated at
the same time, and to my surprise, we were pretty even by the end
of the straight.

i was surprised.  at the end of the lap, i got out and only then
did i notice the little "supercharged" badge on the fender.
