Jimmy,
After much discussion, and some phone calls between Scott J and Ned, I didn't change my cam.
We ended up attributing the difference to the wear level of the chain. I had installed a new chain. Ned's experience was mostly with installing the cam without putting in a new chain.

Will these fit on the rear? If the rears are truly along for the ride,
perhaps this is the ultimate in "added lightness"?
The e//S2 motor didn't go in this weekend. Tonight, I think. However, we
did install the 7A exhaust cam. After checking the archives, it looks like
there was some debate over the alignment of the cam sprocket marks. Keith
Maddock showed marks aligned below the level of the head (and he questioned
that alignment). Ned and others recommended the marks be aligned above the
level of the head. I managed to do the unthinkable and align the marks
exactly level with the head, per Bentley. What up? I'm probably still
weeks away from starting the car, so we can have a short little debate.
Keith, did you ever change your cam alignment? How were they aligned when I
rode in your car?
Later,
Jimmy Pribble
