[s-cars] Quick question on cleaning road tar off wheels and paint

I use Klenesol, a DuPont product made for stripping oil, grease, & wax prior
to repainting. Wash & wax the wheels after you are done - a good wax coat
makes removing tar spots a lot easier.

Subject: [s-cars] Quick question on cleaning road tar off wheels and
paint

S-Nuts,

I recently picked up some road tar due to some local road construction.
They were laying asphalt and I've ended up with this stuff all over my car.
Luckily(?), I've got a black car so the tar on the paint is less annoying,
but the fairly new SSR's look like crap with these specs of asphalt
adhesive-tar all over them.

I remember this thread before, but don't remember the conclusion. If there
was one. I considered (for a very short period of time) to use some
MethylEthylBadShit, but I don't want to ruin the clear coat on my wheels so
I thought I'd ask the group about any BTDTs.

Thanks,
