Another thing I just thought of. If it is the driveshaft cv, and the
greasing doesn't totally solve the problem. I also replaced the transmission
mounts. Based on a tip from Tom Saltino, if the mounts sag, the cv joint
gets out of its normal wear pattern and causes the chattering noise. At
least this was the case with mine. HTH

Here's the circumstances:
1st gear "trolling" through my parking garage, I can hear an audible
drivetrain noise resonate around me. I also hear it when driving with
widows up, inside the car (which is why I'm just noticing it, just starting
to do that here in CT). Happens when I put load onto the drivetrain. Also
hear it 1st gear up my incline driveway (again, load related).
