That reminds me of a friend of mine who was traveling cross-country on a
ninja 600 many years ago. He also encountered a dead deer in the road after
the car in front of him swerved abruptly. He driving right over it without
laying the bike down! He did get a bit of fur and meat stuck in the lower
cowl though!

Bob,

Welcome to MDDC -- Minimal Damage Deer Club ;-)

I, too was following an 18-wheeler one evening when he (or someone in front
of him) hit a deer and I drove over the remnants in my V8q. Better
headlights wouldn't have made a bit of difference in my case. Heard and
felt a big smack under the car along with the requisite feeling of temporary
driving on a dirt road, but all I found at the next gas station when I
inspected for damage was the smell of fresh venison and tufts of hair on the
crossmember under the transmission. No damage done.

Not sure what wire you're speaking of (was looking at the 200q20v), but I'm
sure someone will chime in.
