HVAC OBD is storing 3 codes as follows:
02.3 Interior Temperature Sensor, in Headliner, sporadic open
29.4 Belt slip detection "hard," sporadic
07.1 Ambient Temperature Sensor at Fresh Air Blower, static open (G109,
programmed corrective value =0)
02.3 is because I just disconnected that while replacing the interior light
(Thanks again for the part, Dave)
29.4 is because I was testing the fan clutch (viscous bearing) related to AC
compressor diagnosis
07.1 is either a part or a bad electrical connection. I have part # 4A0 820
539 (G109 temperature sensor) ready to install, but before I start digging
around somewhere near the fresh air blower, I thought a reset of the HVAC
OBD should be done to make sure. How do I reset the OBD codes? Also, since
Bentley says to remove the heater bow as a first step to removing the blower
motor, this could be a bigger job than expected. Anyone BTDT. If there is
way to reach up or down to where that sensor fits into the drivers side of
the blower motor, near the footwell air outlet, I'd clean the connection
first.
