[s-cars] rear anti-sway bar for UrS4/6

Ray - my guess is you are right. If Ken really wants to tighten up his rear
end, what he may need is a rear bar or x-tower brace to fit between the tops
of the rear shocks similar to the front strut tower brace (in some, but
perhaps not all) UrS4/6's. I think this may have been a fairly frequently
discussed, if not applied modification (?) to the earlier 5000 type body
cars, yes/no? I don't know if anyone has tried something similar on the
UrS4/6's, or given the newer bodies alleged "stiffer" chassis design &
construction.
A rear inner trunk bar may exact too big a penalty to the golf club
compartment, however.
Is there anyone on the list who has tried tying the tops of the rear shock
towers together in some fashion?

made.... just not finished" P

~I hope that someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the center
~cross member about which Ken refers serves only to prevent the exhaust or
~driveshaft from hitting the pavement should either let go. The tiny studs
~that hold the cross member in place hardly prevent the car from twisting.

~As for rear swaybar, there are two kits out there - installing the stock
~rear bar (17mm) off of an early '92 or S6Avant, or the "happersized" 26mm
~rear bar. Joe Pizzimenti recently installed the happersized rear bar, and
~swears by it. Not saying much, actually, because every other word out of
~his mouth is a swear. Not to mention that he also managed to
~swipe the only
~remaining bracket kit from Mike Pedersen, so the rest of us who secretly
~procured Hap's bar must wait for additional brackets to be made. Something
~tells me there exists a concert of action between the coastal mafia's.
