Ken,

I just had this done.  $300 sounds about right.  When I had mine done there
was one new shaft in the country in Florida, some where around $1100.
I had to have the center joint replaced due to cracking in the bearing cage.
Make sure to have the front lubed as well.  My bill was around $600.  Quiet
acceleration ever since.  I would get it in ASAP before you damage any parts.
 As you have noticed there are not very many replacement parts around for
these shafts.
