I earlier sent this to Ed, but neglected to cc: the list.
I too had the fast fluctuating boost gauge needle you describe (91 200q, IA
stage III+). When I asked Ned Ritchie for ideas, he suggested looking for
boost leaks in the intake tract. Took awhile, but after replacing most of the
rubber bits in the intake tract (don't forget the crankscase breather hose),
the flutter is gone, and my boost will more consistently go to 21-22 psig.
Testing for leaks. See this link for ideas:
