For those that care or are planning on doing this repair soon, read on:
Ok, thanks to Joe for forwarding additional information to me from Fred M
and the sucker finally came apart. Below, you will see the addendum from Joe
and Fred but here is what I found. As the prongs at issue are at the back of
the switch and not easily accessible, I found it possible to pry, with my
jewelers screwdriver, the short ends of the back of the switch away from the
black outer covering. Then, using a pair of small needle nose pliers, gently
pull on the copper lip that sticks out from the front of the switch. Should
pull apart with any luck. Haven't de-soldered the bulb yet but doesn't look
too difficult if you are at all familiar with soldering. Fred has a good way
of pulling that bulb out which is detailed on ur-s4.com. Thanks again guys!

I too had a problem until Fred sent me this message.
