Sir.
As an automotive enthusiast I have been an avid reader of European Car
since it was known as Hot VW's. I wish to thank you for your efforts in
publishing such a high quality Magazine.
In the September 2003 issue your article "S4 Alchemy" is quite
interesting. As an owner of two 1993 Audi S4's I was particularly
interested in the part that went like this "While the instantaneous
gratification of the new S4's big motor is obvious, the ballistic
characteristics of a turbocharged engine are part of what made the
first S4 so good. I'm not yet ready to cast it aside for something new,
and neither are people like Chris Clark."
The article then goes on to talk about his 2002 S4....A car that is not
one of the first S4 family. The first S4's were produced from 1992
through 1995 (at that time known as the S6). and have become known as
UrS4's. I am sure you are aware of the in-line 5 turbocharged 2.2 liter
engines Audi produced, and their capabilities.
After reading your article I thought you might like to investigate one
of these cars that is worthy of gracing the pages of European Car.
The car in question is owned by Hap Maguire, and can be seen on this
web page:
http://www.s-cars.org/urs4s6/Articles/ar004/ar004.html
Hap is a commercial jet airline pilot who has taken performance
modifications to a new level...it is now known as Happersizing!
If you are brave enough to venture into the world of performance, you
may wish to contact hap. Should you need help contacting Hap please let
me know, I will be glad to help.
Rumor has it he lives in Everboost, Colorado...
Beware though, he is rumored to be part of the Colorado S-car mafia.
You have been informed, and warned....
Enjoy!
Chris Chambers
