But wait there's more - not just turbocharged.  The intake air goes through
the turbo compressor, then into a supercharger nested in the middle of the
motor for stage 2.  Yikes.  And that was Hap'd  when meant Hap Arnold.

18" no, but the turbos are pretty large - I guess they were 12-14" on the
exhaust side, all that's visible w/o taking stuff apart.  These days they
seldom take it over a few thousand feet, so they don't use them.
