If my (aging) memory serves me correctly, Dave is right -- the Old 455
was it. Chevrolet did a 454 in the Corvette and Chevelle, Ford a 429 in
the Mustang and Torino and Chrysler threw a 440 Six Pack in various
cars. Of course, Chrysler dropped an 8-liter V10 truck motor in the
Viper several years later. No substitute for cubic inches and cheap gas.
Except a well-tuned 2.2l inline 5, perhaps?
