I "rotate" both summer and winter tires on my 200q20v front to back each
year. I mark the rims "R-1, R-2" for the right side and put the number
that matches the year on the front. That is, this year my summer tires had
R-1 on the front, in 2004 I'll put R-2 on the front. This year my winter
tire R-1 (and L-1 too) went on the front. Last fall, it was the "2's" that
went on the front. Both my summer and winter tires are marked for forward
direction, so there's no switching side to side anyway.
