These KKK and older Garrett hybrids have a sleve bearing in the center shaft. There is an outer casing, and when under oil pressure a layer of oil. Then comes the sleeve bearing and another layer of oil under pressure. Finally comes the shaft between the compressor and the turbine. Without oil pressure there has to be wiggle room for the variuos oil layers. That is the play that you feel. The weakness of the K24 is the center shaft that is only something like 3-4mm in diameter. The RS2 and Garrett hybrids are a much more robust 6-7mm. HTH
