Bob, I must add that while you are sure it's not a failing coil pack, I
would like to relate my experience. I had an opportunity many years ago to
help a friend diagnose a sudden and abrupt power loss during WOT in a
chipped '93 car. As soon as boost came on, massive stalling/bucking. But, as
soon as you backed off the accelerator and ran through the rpms with out any
boost, no bucking was felt. Eventually he swapped a new coil pack cylinder
by cylinder, went for a test drive and sure enough, coil 4 was toast.
Try the simple things first as others have mentioned = clean contacts and
such. It could be many things. Just wanted to add another experience with a
failing ignition coil. HTH,
Chad
