...continuation of rant... (stop here if you don't like whiners ;~) )
Not even slow speeds are safe enough compared to many of today's brakes -
What one may be likely to encounter in an actual stop 'n go environment,
crappy drivers riding their brakes so there is no difference between a
slightly coasting, maybe even decelerating vehicle in front of you and a
*rapidly* decelerating vehicle in front of you cost me a goodly sum in hood,
grill, radiator, condenser, fan, fan clutch, PS pulley, not to mention my
new Eurolights (which only have broken bottom tabs - but still not useable
at the moment). Yeah, I coulda been more attentive, but the Mintex pad bite
that I was used to, didn't exist with the OEM pads (don't ask how they got
on there). Regardless of pads, more braking power would have avoided a 6mph
kiss that barely scratched a BM7 series and left me outta pocket $$$$.
If you're still reading, It was my attempt to avoid the cost of bigger
Winter wheels, -anyone want a very nice set of 15" Ronals?- and wait till
Springtime to get that ECS kit in, that was the foolish part.
