Bill wunder'd:
<<<I really like the 911 horn which IME has a distinctly nice
Euro/Mediterranean toot to it (maybe found here-
http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=77573
<http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=77573> . Do I go with
something like that, or a full blast Ferrari type air horn (like here-
http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=77839
<http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=77839> ) that could make
folks soil themselves?>>>
Ah Bill, I shoulda clicked on them links before. I had them Hella 118 dB's
rotated through my ///M5, 300E, and 2.3-16. Stupidme got lazy whilst
selling the latter and never yanked them to rotate them into da //S.
What they are: They are f'n LOUD. Which is always kewl.
What they are not: They are NOT Porsche sounding horns, nor anything
remotely in the same noise family. Sound like some sorta bizarre love child
product of mating our current horn to that of which resides in any mid 80's
Volvo. Serious. For lack of better description, they sound like both those
2 horns going off simultaneously. Which is cool. Need further description?
Easy, park yours next to an '86 240DL and let 'em rip, voila, Hella horns as
above.
The sound has an uncanny ability to PENETRATE. Which is good. Heh heh.
Let's just say mine were well used...
-P now I'm gettin horny K.
