[s-cars] Bose Woes

Scott to the best of my knowledge there are low impedance speakers AKA 1
Ohm.
You would be ill advised to run them on the factory head unit at least IMO.

Now, as to electrical noise...
I have after market equipment, Head unit, Parametric EQ, 3 PPI amps..
I have very little noise, mostly noted when the seat heaters and defrost are
on.

You need to have several things in place to eliminate most noise,
a) TOP of the line equipment. Each PPI amp has very good noise correcting
inputs. They work well.
b) Be sure you don't run ANY low level wires down either side under the door
trim, BAD place in many cars. Really bad in this Audi.
c) Keep grounds as short as possible, and as low impedance as possible.
Clean all surfaces and seal after your done where the ground wire goes.
d) cross power lines at 90 degrees only.
e) follow all well know wiring practices.

Noise filters rarely take the noise out, and if you use them on the low
level lines you will inevitably loose signal quality.
I have been running high end stuff in Audi since he late 80's. They do have
a noisy electrical system. The factory wires are too many and too small in
cross section.

Hope that's not too much run on.
