Be careful with that statement.  The letters at the end of the part number
are not like a typical revision letter that one would commonly see on
engineering drawings.  They simply denote the configuration of the part.  So
in the examples above you cannot blindly assume that "j" is better than "h",
and that "k" is better than "j".  All you can say is that they are
different.  While in some cases a subsequent letter may indeed be an
improvement from the previous letter that is not always a given.  VAG, and
any company for that matter, will often have several different
configurations of a part on initial release of the design.  The different
letters could denote a part for LHD vs. RHD cars, or a part for an automatic
vs. manual gearbox, or simply different colors of interior trim, or, in the
case of wheels, just different styles.  That doesn't mean one is better than
the other.
