Bruce,

Yes, without a doubt. My S6 showed identical symptoms
and when I changed the thermostat, I found that it was
leaking when closed.

You'll need a new thermostat, 'O'-ring and a ratchet
drive with 1' long extension that has a knuckle. Job
will take 15 minutes with the correct tools.
