I've noticed lately, that various manufacturers have started adding
small strakes to the window side of mirror housings, or on the body
directly in front of the side mirrors. Apparently, the strakes clean up
the wind flow between the body and mirrors for reduced wind noise. I was
never really been all that bothered by wind noise in the S4, but, to be
honest, there is more noise than in your basic Lexass. Now maybe, some
lister with WAY too much free time on his hands can make a trip to Home
Depot and fashion some strakes (with a sophisticated euro look, natch)
and report back to the List on your findings and upload some
before-and-after Quicktime vids for all to share. Said List could then
debate the relative merits of strake materials -- carbon fiber, brushed
aluminum, PVC, or maybe something fashioned out of popsicle sticks for
the budget minded. Just a thought..........
