Dear Bueller -

Its been done, it fits. I put one in the dash on my Green car. If I had
the car around, I could send you a photo. OTOH, just as food for thought,
www.fjoinc.com :-). IMO, the very limited information a narrow band unit
provides, other than functioning as an "idiot" light, i.e. if you're in
full boost, & the gauge is showing you a constant "Red" LED; or you're at
idle & you keep getting a solid BLUE, makes the gauge fairly useless except
to tell you that you may want to look into matters if you inappropriately
colored LED's at inappropriate times.

In fact, FWLIMBW if one were determined to mount something like the Split
Second unit in the dash you could save your self a lot of space (& the
irritation, or maybe it's the disco mystery of constantly bouncing lights)
by reducing the narrow band A/F display down to just two LEDs, one red and
one blue. That would cover the two extreem ends of the gauges limited
ability to monitor the A/F spectrum, rich & lean. You want to see the blue
light on when you're at 15+ psi; and take you're foot out of it if you see a
red LED at boost.

Hi Y'all,

I've been thinking again. I've found that thinking seems to get me into
trouble almost every time I try it.

I pulled out the instrument cluster on my urS6 to replace some light bulbs
and saw a really nice spot which looks almost exactly the right size in
which to mount an A/F gauge. Take a look at http://splitsec.com/ and check
out their ARM1 meter. I think that thing turned so the light display goes
up/down rather than right/left should fit nicely in the unused space
(blacked out with a plastic black box. The box measured just barely over
7/8 inch wide by 2 1/4 inch high by almost any depth you want within reason.
That's approximately 23 mm by 57 mm. The opening covered by the box is
9/16" (14.3 mm) by 1 7/8" (47.6 mm). This opening is narrower than the A/F
gauge but it is large enough that the display portion of the gauge face
should be fully visible through the opening.

The dimensions shown for the A/F meter are 0.78" W by 2.265" H by 1.51" D.
The height may be just a little bit tight but some careful "adjustments"
would probably permit it to fit in the available hole.

D'ya think it will work? Anybody have a better suggestion?

Bueller?
