[s-cars] gas

High octane gas is less likely to detonate so the software can go with
more aggressive ignition timing and full boost. The advantage will
disappear when the octane rating will be high enough to run the most
aggressive ignition timing the ECU is aware of and still have no
detonation. Now, there is the cost factor. High octane fuel is not
cheap, MPG will plumet with your exhilarating leaded right foot and in
no time, you'll have spent enougth in race fuel to buy an Happercooler,
the last one giving a much more durable effect regarding detonation.

Having recently become addicted to this too nearby 110 racegas, I seek
to understand the attraction. Car is great in full rs2 battlegear with
normal 93 octane, but now its a laugh a minute:) So, why is performance
so enhanced for $1.50 a gallon more? Is it the turbo, high compression,
27psi? At what octane level do benefits go away? I hadnt really seen
any posts on this other than perhaps the toluene threads. Fortunately,
for at least the moment, mixing my own gas doesnt really appeal to me.
Anyone up for a nitro methane, 9.0 quarter followed by engine rebuild?
he he I know you're out there. Thanks for any thoughts. Cheers' Bill m
