Dave, et.al.:

I just looked at my Eibachs laying so pretty in their box and I do have the
same numbers as you indicated. I was however told that the perch was
necessary by the folks at Shox.Com (my place of purchase). As you say the
proof will be in the install, but it sure would be nice to have a definitive
answer so that the install would only have to be performed once. Not to
mention the increased risk of scratching that oh so pretty gunmetal paint.

In case anyone is curious...
I received my Eibach springs yesterday. The box had the 1529.140 label on
it
as some of you indicated it should. Inspecting the # on the springs
revealed
a 1527.001 on the front springs and a 1517.002 on the rears. Visual
inspection by myself (and a very well informed friend) left us believing
that
the rears would not require a perch. Obviously, the truth will become
evident on install.

The numbers on the springs... I was told that these numbers never match the
kit number. The only way I could draw any conclusions from the numbers on
the springs would be to compare them to a "known good" set from early
production runs.

First impressions... these springs "look" nice. A very pretty metallic
gunmetal shade of paint, and a transparent rubber sleeve around the rear
spring coils that are positioned close together (progressive). Compared to
H&
Rs, an impressive fit and finished look... and $100 less per set. Could
just
be a pig with lipstick. I'll know for sure soon.

Dave
