IIRC, the OLD 993tt big reds, although using the same piston O/D as the
NEW, sexy, lightweight 996 monoblocs, use different pad dampening clips.
Both calipers use the same adhesive pad material, only the 996 monobloc
uses one large adhesive-backed pad with two cups riveted to the pad.
The cups fit inside the piston bores. On the 993tt big reds, each
piston uses an individual spider clip design, rather than a cup, that
snaps or clips into the piston bore, rather than simply "fitting" into
the piston (ala 996).
