[s-cars] sunroof control trim

guys-
FWIW, I'm not sure which clip specifically you are referring to, but I
wrecked about 4 of the clip holders that are part of the tin frame that sits
in the headliner area where the sunroof selector switch is housed, and the
tin frame is replaceable. Cost me under 20 bucks from the dealer. I can get
a
p/n if you need it. If these tin clip holders are broken off, the trim
piece will not sit in there properly creating "saggage".
If it's the plastic clip that is broken which is part of the trim piece
(housing the switch) than this post is probably no help whatsoever...

The hotmelt glue that I used on mine is working well.=A0 Scuffed up the
surface around the pegs with some 50 grit, then gobbed on the hotmelt pretty
good, making sure to "bridge" the clip with the glue.=A0 I tried epoxy, and=
it
worked...for about a week. I think it was too brittle.

This seems to be another of those common problems.=A0 My console started to
flop down a couple of months ago and I recall seeing Dave Freed's car having
the same problem this summer.=A0 The clips are normally held in by two pegs
from the console that go through mating holes in the clips and are then
melted over.=A0 Because of this I doubt that Audi will have clips available
separately and will force you to buy a new cover.=A0 If you can't find the
clip (mine was, and is, still up there rattling around) the other
alternative is go scrounging through the junkyard.=A0 Any '92-'97 100/A6 wi=
ll
do if you just want the clip, and if you find one that matches your interior
that's all the better.
I plan on using some epoxy to hold the clip in.=A0 There is enough of the
original pegs remaining to locate the clip and then it's just a matter of
gooping some epoxy over the top.=A0 I'll take care of this someday.=A0 Righ=

I've got more important things to do, like getting rid of all the ice dams
on my house so I can stop the water from coming in through the windows and
walls.

a 24ft ladder resting on iced over gutters) R.
