[s-cars] AIRBAG help PPPPLease

Guys,

I can't figure this out and need to get it fixed b4 a
buyer comes to look at the car.

I took my steering wheel off the other night to adjust
its center positioning.  After disconnecting the
battery and all the breakers near the ECU, I unscrewed
the airbag unit from behind the wheel.  Then I
released the retaining strap and unplugged the little
red wire that attaches to the back of the airbag unit.
 This is the only wire I unplugged.  When I
reinstalled the bag, I connected the little red wire
to the back of the airbag unit, then buttoned
everything up.  I go to start the car, it runs as
normal, but the AIRBAG light on the dash will not go
off as it used to.

What did I do wrong?  Is it possible that I plugged
the red wire in backwards? (seems impossible to do) Or
does something need to be reset?  Bentley does not
mention a reset is needed, they just say if the Airbag
light doesn't go out to scan some port with a VAG 1515
(I think) tool.

Can someone with experience please help?
