[s-cars] Squeally, squeally

Hi Gary;
Could be the release bearing or the front or rear oil seal. Depressing the
clutch moves the crank a bit and can cause a leaking seal to change note.
I had a similar squeal only on cold start-up in really cold weather (-20 or
lower) on my '91 200q. It too went away after the engine idled for a minute
or so. It came from the front of the engine and disappeared after I changed
the front oil seal.

Well, since the 'sounds' thread was brought up. I've got one. Only during
cold weather, only from cold startup for a minute or two, my S4 (160k mi.)
has a squealing sound. Doubles in magnitude with the clutch depressed. Had
it last winter, but it is louder this winter. Summer time, no noise. Whadya
think. Release bearing??
