Bob,
I don't think Jack still owns his URS4, but I do believe his feelings about
them mirror my own. Namely:
- The ride is only slightly more stiff (~20% IMO) than stock 93-.
- My 93 with Bilstein sports is 14" to 14.25" from center front wheel to
fender. The look is *slightly* lower than Eibach, but still mature and not
"slammed"
- Do not try to go through a car wash with Intrax even if the attendant
swears that Corvettes make it through, and "you got it" is heard. You will
hear 2 very unpleasant sounds: 1st) something scraping under the car and
(2), several dozen angry car wash patrons as the all try to coordinate a 30
vehicle reverse exercise to make enough room for me to back away from the
car wash tunnel. Do'h!
- I have bottomed out 1 or 2 times over speed bumps (didn't take them at
slight angle) and 1 or 2 times at speed over major road undulations. Not a
biggie. Have had 500+ of passenger and no bottoming out either.
- When I took delivery of mine, the rear springs did not fit. They were
stamped with the correct p.n., but were too narrow in diameter. No doubt a
QC issue due to a lack of C4 sales volume. Although P.O.'d, the dudes (they
are in CA) at intrax sent me a Saturday overnight of the correct springs at
their cost. VG customer service.
I'd go with Eibach/Bilstein for a sporty ride and Intrax/Bilstein for a more
compliant, yet stiffer than stock ride. I have no BTDT with Koni.
In a nutshell, if there were 2 springs on the island, I'd vote the Intrax
off - even if she was a cheaper date.
Ed

Jack: I know you used to run Intrax. Can you comment on this? Bob

suspension GP vs. H&R/Bilstein Sport Hi everyone, This is my first time
posting to the s-car board, but I've been reading it for a couple months now
(bought my UrS4 in December). My '93 S4 has 115K on the clock and I just
ordered a set of H&R springs and Bilstein Sport shocks through RPI. Then low
and behold yesterday I read about a GP on an Intrax/Koni setup for quite a
bit less cheddar, plus the Intrax drops the car more. Anyone have any
experience either owning or riding in an S4 with Intrax springs? If so, how
different are they from the H&R's? Also, what other wear items in the
suspension should be replaced when I go in there to change out the
springs/shocks? Thanks, Richard K.
