Hi Chris,

Are you sure it's a bearing issue. From the three Audi I had, heater fan
bearing always made noise. Only one had some problem starting but it was
solved by forcing the fan to the max setting, not slamming the door.
Your problem sounds like a bad electrical connection.

Vincent.

Hello all,

I am looking for some emails posted a while back regarding a
refurbishing of the bearings in the HVAC blower fan. I've gone through
the yahoo archives and could not find post I was looking for. I've seen
the tech article on UrS4 on the bower fan motor replacement, but was
hoping for a simpler fix. If anyone knows of the post, please send it
my way.

My blower fan in my 94 100 quattro needs a good door slam to start it
spinning. Once it's going, it runs fine and does not make any chirping
noise or squeaks. I was hoping a good refurbishing of the bearings
would be enough to get rid of the resistance causing the fan not to
start.

I don't receive the messages from this list so could you please respond
directly to me at S4 at quat.com

TIA,

Chris
