[s-cars] A question for the Spring(s)...

Since it is spring, and the temps here are not 117 (Yikes!), I have been
working on cars and thinking of upgrades. I bought a used set of 1992
springs recently, and was thinking of painting them or something to help
with rust, and to make them look a little better under the fender (well, the
second reason more than the first probably). Will painting them work? Or
will the paint crack off? What about powder coating? Has anyone done this?
