[s-cars] Bike rack recommendations?

Well........
Black spandex, Campy bags.   Hummm.
The dirt bag, lazy mountain biker that I am really loves not having to
remove the front wheel and then having to mount it someplace else or
toss it in the car. Also its more of a pain these days when your disk
brake pads can fall out.
The seat height is really not much lower with a fork mount system.
Its true - fork mounts are perhaps slightly more rigid but not by much.
  The Sportworks rack clamps tightly over your front wheel and the
wobble is far less than the frame mounted styles.  Regardless - your 17
lb Colnago would not go anywhere.  Neither will my 27 lb freeride bike.
 The Sportworks rack is a very solid system.  Mine has survived many
many miles of horrible off road thrashing - fully loaded.  (not on the
Audi however)
That being said - some people just think roof rack mounted bikes look
cooler up there with the wheels off and thats OK too.
