I completely agree that specialized tools will make it easier. But I have
adjusted the pistons using channel-locks a lot of times and as long as you
are careful with the rubber seals they work fine.

FLAPs has a generic tool to do this. *Don't* use the channel locks...it's a
major PITA this way. I've done it both ways, and it's far easier with the
right tool.
