[s-cars] What is the deal with this Part!

Mat,
Haha! Just kidding.
It's the power output stage, otherwise aptly known as a POS.
Cover it in plastic as best you can before washing down the motor. It runs
VERY hot, and water seems to drive it nuts.
Others on the list will tell you how to use the spare channel in the other
POS to compensate, and where to get it for under $200, and how to buy an
extended warranty that will cover it when (not if) it fails.
