You do not have to remove door panel. I did my drivers
door a while back. The clips screw into door and the
trim slides off of them. On one end has a cap. Remove
that and slide the whole peice off. I then took the
clips off and cleaned them up nice, put some silicone
on the trim strip, and slid it back on. Fairly easy
job.

My door trim strips (ding protectors) on the outside
of the passenger's
side (front and back door) of the car are rusted out
and no longer hold
to the tension clips. I ordered new trim strips and
they came in
today. What is the best way to install these? I
notice they are held
on by tension clips. Do I need to take the door apart
to get the old
clips out in order to snap in the new trim.
Thanks,
Joel Rector
