Yes, don't do it.  It's loud.  It's noisy.  It will cost you mileage &
power, and depending on the filter, may shorten the life of critical car
components.  In other words, it is generally considered by many to be a very
poor idea.

Of course, YMMV but for a more definitive opinion, ask Hap for some BTDT.
