Here's an excerpt of a note I posted a while back:

The thing that is really hard to find is the adapter box that fits
under the Sony CD changer. It converts the rectangular Audi plug signals
to & from the round connector on the CD changer.

A good place to look for the Audi adapter box is from a wrecked V8 Quattro,
since most if not all of then came with the CD changer standard, and it's
the same unit as the S6.

Actually, you can get a changer in the $40 range on eBay. That's if you
are just looking for the Sony changer - NOT including the Audi
adapter box under the factory CD changer.

The CD changer itself is a Sony CDX-A30. You can use almost
any Sony CDX-Axx where xx is 15, 30, 55, whatever.

Look on eBay in Consumer Electronics > Car Audio & Electronics
                 > Audio & Video > CD Players

Search on CDX-A* and
select both "only in CD Players" and "in titles & descriptions"

I just looked, and there are none at auction right now, but I recommend
looking every couple days and you'll find one.
