Yes, the french police is very busy with those german fast cars and
their drivers. So much easier to give them speeding tickets at the toll
plazas rather than working on the real problems (car jacking being one
of them). It is a way to hide how incompetent and useless they are.

Keith,
your story reminded me how my wife got robbed off her purse in Paris
back in 2000. Her driver's licence, her credit cards, keys, $800 and
~FF300 in cash - everythign was gone. The French police were nice and
understanding, had put everything on paper, and gave us a copy of the
report, but that was all they did.
