[s-cars] VAG-COM

I figure it's time to pony up and do some datalogging.
So... I am leaning toward the Vag-com cable and software.
I have a laptop but not a Palm.. else the shadetree stuff would be quite
interesting.

Should I go the VAG-COM route ? If so, should I pony the extra $$ for the
HEX-COM or is the basic one all I need.
The basic one is 199 and the top o line c/w with microprocessor and coffee
maker is 279.00.
What you all say ?
