Mark,
I ponied up for the HEX-COM plus the older S4 adapter (yes, I know I coulda
saved 50 bucks by wiring one on my own, but the plug and play is nice... and I
use it more often cuz it's purdy). IMO, I've already paid off the investment
with diagnoses I didn't have to pay my mechanic for.
The HEX-COM is very nice; the coffee maker aspect is very beneficial. It
allows for decaf (the Cabriolet) or caf (the S4) and the built in grinder means
I can diagnose friends cars too.
To be honest, I don't fully understand the differences between the older
versions, but the HEX-COM means you can use it on any VAG... which rules.
