[s-cars] Is a 100 heavier than an S4 in the fron

You are getting confused by Audi's change to the A# model nomenclature
introduced in '95 with the A6...the '92-94 S4 is the same car (almost) as the
'92-94 100/s/cs/q, '95-97 A6/q and '95-'97 S6, all C4-chassis cars.

See Ti Kan's excellent page on models and platforms for more >>
http://www.ibiblio.org/tkan/audi/usmodels.html

The car based on the 80/90 (B-platform) that you are probably thinking of is
the S2, never sold in the US.

The '92 100q (2.8 V6) is in fact lighter than a '92 S4 (2.2t I5)--100q is about
3700# while the S4 is about 3800#. The frame & chassis of the cars is
identical--they should be, as they are both C4-chassis. If Dan's question is
really comparing the 100 to the S4, then it's apples and oranges--FWD vs
quattro, but still based on the C4-chassis. In this case, the 100 is just
under 3400#. (quattro doesn't really add 400#, but the 100q and S4 have a lot
more standard equipment on them)

Currently maintaining: '91 200q, '92 100s, '97 A6q
