Hi,
Well, I ended up driving my car down to Mid Ohio hoping it just needed
some miles on it to help the rings seat but the smoking just got worse.
So here is the run down. The first day I drove the car after getting the
engine back together I had very little smoke. The second day the car
smoked like crazy on startup and after that would only smoke when I
lifted my foot off of the pedal. The third day I drove to Mid Ohio and
on the highway the only time it would smoke was again when I lifted my
foot off the gas. While I was at Mid Ohio the car would smoke like crazy
on startup and then started smoking at idle as well. This got worse and
worse and at idle the car would smoke so think I could not see the car
behind me at red lights. That was fun, not! On the trip home I had to
pay very close attention to keep it from smoking. I would just try to
keep load in the engine even when braking to keep the smoke down. I also
added 3 quarts of oil over the 1000 mile trip. Now I don't think its the
rings but maybe one of the valve seals got put in wrong. Any other
ideas? I am going to flatbed the car to my mechanic because it is just
to bad to drive now. Other than that Mid Ohio was fun to watch and get
rides with people. I hung out with Bob Pastor, Pizzo, Bill Fuson, Nick
Pinto, Rick Pastor, Dave Burig and many other great people. It was fun
to meet some more listers.

Elijah
